A history of the last 40 years of the sex workers' rights movement.more »
SCOT-PEP was set up by and for sex workers in 1989 to provide non-judgemental information and support to those involved in the sex industry. For two decades we ran a number of projects, including drop-in and outreach services, established an Ugly Mugs scheme, provided hundreds of thousands of condoms and safer sex supplies, and advocated for the rights of sex workers in Edinburgh and across Scotland.
Following the loss of core funding in 2009 we ceased our activities as a service provider and concentrated our efforts on campaigning against the growing pressure to suppress sex workers’ rights in Scotland.
